Laser - Epilation: Preparation for treatment with LightSheer® Laser (go to MedArt® 435 Laser)

The laser aims at the chromospheres of the hairs. The darker the hairs, the higher the chances to succeed well. The contrary is the case for grey, blond or white hairs, even if they undergo a blackening process. To preserve the pigment cells, the contrast between the skin and the hair colour should be as big as possible.

Before starting the treatment the zone that is to be depilated has to be protected from sunlight. It’s highly recommended to avoid sunbaths and the use of a solarium during that period. Only expose these zones of the body to sunlight after applying a sun block with UV-protection. We would equally like to remind you that sun block is to be applied between 12 and 24 before the exposure to sunlight.

The laser can only be efficient if the root of the hair is still inside the skin. It is therefore that the hairs on the concerned body parts should not be depilated or ripped out, but only shaved within one month of beginning the therapy.  This is also valid for hair bleaching. The part of the skin that is to be treated should be shaved at least 12 to 24 before the beginning of the treatment to avoid skin irritations.

Attention: If you’ve ever had forms of herpes in the area that is to be depilated (e.g. around the mouth) it is absolutely necessary to inform the dermatologist about that fact.
